*scratches head* my game keeps crashing

the first few games i've played the game was fine but now it's crashing at almost every move. it's driving me nuts! I've had it crashed when a colony event pops up, i had it crash on a random event, i had it crash EVERY time when i click total routes on the forgein relations while selecting a race. I've had it crash while just pushing the turn button (it just froze, no action whatsoever, music still played)
as you can see, i find it exited to desktop quite often, I don't think it has to do with my processor because i've played on huge maps before, no problem. but, this is my first game with the 1.05 patch
