Disappearing evil force?

I saved my game after getting a report of an 'evil force' upon one of my planets. Upon resuming the game, I prepared for the arrival of this dread force, and I waited.

And waited.

And waited.

And uh... I think I've been stood up -_-;.

WTF?

Well after about six kajillion turns, the force took over. I invaded the planet and that was it.

This is from the creators of the precursors? o_O? No wonder they're all dead.

Don't quite understand. You mean they made one of your colonies rebel and leave your empire, but you easily took it back with an invasion fleet? What kind of ships (or whatever) was defending the wayward planet?

One or two battle axes. The event said they unleashed some sort of evil horde/fleet.

Sephlock,

Be happy they toned down the event. In it's original incarnation it could happen very early in the game and they appeared with a mass of Ranger class ships while the rest of the galaxy was lucky if they had Battlecruisers.

When it was first introduced it was a potentially game-ending random event but I think it's been moved too far in the opposite direction.

But that wasn't a bang, it was a whimper! and it happened in lategame! I swarmed the bajesus out of mister precursor-creator.

I encountered something similar during my conquest of the galaxy. It was late in the game, and an event ocurred stating that a disgruntled factory worker shot Lord Vega of the Arcean Empire, thus starting a war. And some "private" suppliers had provided them with a buttload of ships. They had at least 100 corvettes, and they were all named "Die Humans!", but since I owned almost the whole galaxy, and since my military might was so strong (I had an equal amount of frigates), I was able to persuade the Arceans to sign a peace treaty, as well as give me two of their planets. I bought all of those corvettes off of them, just to be on the safe side, then selling tech to get my cash back. And then I proceeded with the long and tedious task of decommissioning every last corvette that I bought from them. I didn't want the expenditure on my military, if I'm going to have a hundred of anything, it'll be Avatars or Overlords, not dinky little corvettes.

Hmm, btw, when you decommission something, is there any way to get back some of the investment that went into it's creation?

Sell it to a strugling enemy or just give it to them outright, it's a good way of destroying thier economy . . . hehe! I like giving my 'back stabbing buddies' losta millitary transports (which I never seem to end up using), thier maintanance is kinda high (8 or 12?) . . . but that's just being cruel. :)

You know, there really should be a way to get back at least some of your cash that went into it. Like a recycling facility where your ship gets dissassembled and smelted down for use in other projects.
