Jorge...I hope I didn't make too many mistakes in what I said...

Nah, don't worry about it.

I knew this was going to be confusing because the pre-scheduled Cnet exclusive forced me to release Nexus first. My own fault for slacking out and not finishing everything on time.

I'll be making Winstep Xtreme v10.9 and Nexus Ultimate v10.9 available through the Winstep Update Manager late Monday or so, but you won't see it listed on the Winstep web site until Cnet updates their listings with the new version, which might take a few days.

I think I've gone through all the bells and whistles on my new dock and still can't decide which one to leave up for more than a minute or two. It is just too much fun to play with. Lol

Heheh.

Out of curiosity, from 1 to 10, how would you guys rate the new animations in terms of preference and coolness?

Squish:
Spin:
Sonic Boom:
Heal:
Fire:
Magic:
Flare:
Wind:
Water:

Squish:10
Spin:2
Sonic Boom:8
Heal:3
Fire:9
Magic:7
Flare:5
Wind:4
Water:6

Preference will vary as some will look better than others depending on the Winstep Theme/WB in use. I like squish the most, but they all rate an 8 or above in coolness.B)

Love 'heal' (wonder why...lol) 1 recolored yellow on "Corporate"

Fire 2, spin 3... not wild about the rest...but the recolor thing...woohoo! Stroke of genius to add all that!

Need a tutorial about subdocks...how to make, etc... and then I'll really be cooking.

the recolor thing

I hadn't even tried that yet. That changes everything. Scratch my list, no way I could pick a favorite!  If I had to pick just one, Sonic Boom is great for using long term and goes with anything. Squish is a lot of fun and is great for showing Nexus off to my friends.

I love Squish too. And flare.

nobody likes 'heal'  :'(

I like Heal too... Hmmm. Wonder if it would be better if the effect kept playing while you mouse over the icon, like Flare does.

I still can't decide. They're all so cool. I'll have to look into the recolor thing though.

So, did you? Next release I'll try to allow users to combine the new animated mouse over effects with the dock magnification effect. Now that would be super cool.

had not even looked at them, :| Quite like magic with ecoLogcal, mind you waters cool and squish and so on..very nice

Personaly I think Squish is one of the best effects for the Shelf. |-)

If you're running Xtreme v10.9, take a look at the new menu opening animations too:

Yeah, wow! So where are the options to change them at?

NextSTART Preferences -> Sound & Animations tab. Don't forget to set the same animation for vertical and horizontal menus.

Since Winstep Xtreme is an integrated suite of applications, context menus in WorkShelf and Nexus will then also use the same animations you defined in NextSTART (unless you turn integration off, of course).

Just wanted to say that I brought Winstep Extreme Basic a week ago and it is one very nice program.   It does what you expect it to do and is very flexible in setting it up to give your desktop just the look you want.
