Help with icons

I made my icons size 48x48. Everything works fine except when I go to open or save a file. The icons are too big to fit in the little box on the side. I know I can manually make the box bigger, but I don't want to have to do that everytime. Is there anything I can do so it stays a certain size everytime it opens?

Can anybody help? I think it might be possible. Maybe there is something in the registry I that you could change.

I have removed one of the icons instead. The 4 remaining ones fit fine at 48x48. I used the TweakUI PowerToy from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/downloads/powertoys.asp

Among other things, it allows you to customize which icons appear there and how many.

Which do I change?

In the Common Dialogs section of TweakUI, select "Custom places bar" and set the last item in the places bar to "none". Then adjust the remaining 4 to whatever shortcuts are most useful to you.
