AHHHH!!! PINK!!!

When i try to recolor something like a rainledar skin in The GIMP, some color shows up behind the image. I use the Hue-Saturation feature to do it. I get the result I want, but there is a color behind it. How do I get rid of that color?

You mean the 'magic pink' color behind a skin? (html code: FF00FF)

I am not sure with gimp, never have worked with it. Try this:
Make 2 layers with the skin on it, take the magic wand tool and select the pink on the second layer, now delete the pink, you should only have the skin on the 2e layer, and the magic pink on the 1st.
Now you can recolor the skin to what you want.

you have to keep the magic pink parts for them to be transparent,It must be exactly 255 0 255.

do what Styl skinner said. that will work.

(no clue why people still use BMP for Rainlendar skins though. it supports PNG since quite a while ... a well, guess only the LiteSteppers read the docs)

???? you said you use The GIMP in your first post ????

of course you have a magic wand tool. it´s number four from the top left. sorry to say that, but i doubt Photoshop will be much help for you if you did not even recognize that.

read more about it here: http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/node36.html#SECTION001111000000000000000
