Galactive Civilizations: Issues and Comments

****Interface****
 Look & Feel: Game setup - level of darkness for deselected empires is not even. Yor Collective shows brighter than the others do and I thought at first it was active when it wasn’t.

 In the expenditures for military, research, social. Moving up one slider does not make the other two sliders move. The values are changing though

 Text in the News box needs to wrap.

 Political party choice needs a brighter indicator for the selected option

****Game Play****

 Need to have a total expenditures display just like total income

 Just watched an enemy colony ship make 5 moves in one turn.

 The random event flashing star only gives 100bc item.

 Turn button got stuck and would not let me finish my turn. All other functions worked but I could not proceed to next round.

****Stability****

 Ctrl-Alt-Delete is disabled once the mouse goes screwy. You must tab out of gal-civ to another program for it to function again.

 Mouse buttons function until I hit the esc button. No scrolling or mouse functions after this. Same effect as the early purchase option

 Mouse stops working for no reason occasionally. (cursor always works. Talking button and screen movement here.)

****Graphics****

 Move location indicator is off center on the vertical axis. Fine in horizontal

****Other****
 Frame rate display has problems displaying numbers when over 100 fps. the number is cut short after the decimal.

Got into a situation where the game ran away on me. turn started flying by automatically. within a few minutes my whole civ was toast.the turn button stayed in the down position and I could do nothing about it. I am unable to figure out what caused it. I did nothing that I had not already been doing.

I just had that same problem but it started when I tried to colonize a planet that was already targetted by another civ.

I'm going to leave the graphical issues alone for now because they're going to have be discussed with both programmers and artists...

 Text in the News box needs to wrap.

Addressed this in GreenReaper's post. It will eventually.

 Just watched an enemy colony ship make 5 moves in one turn.

I think that Brad has the enemies able to move faster than Terran ships...I'm not sure though.

 The random event flashing star only gives 100bc item.

Yep. That's a temporary thing until we get more events created.

 Turn button got stuck and would not let me finish my turn. All other functions worked but I could not proceed to next round.

Ick. I thought that I had fixed that.

****Stability****

 Ctrl-Alt-Delete is disabled once the mouse goes screwy. You must tab out of gal-civ to another program for it to function again.

That MIGHT be because you all have debug builds running in fullscreen. Debug builds are not happy in fullscreen.

 Mouse buttons function until I hit the esc button. No scrolling or mouse functions after this. Same effect as the early purchase option

The ESC key is supposed to bring up the options screen, but since Brad hadn't included that file, the menu comes up and doesn't go away. I'm not sure about the Purchase screen.

 Mouse stops working for no reason occasionally. (cursor always works. Talking button and screen movement here.)

I've never seen it stop working for buttons, but I know that there are problems with hit detection when you click on ships occasionally...is that what you mean by screen movement?

****Graphics****

 Move location indicator is off center on the vertical axis. Fine in horizontal

Umm...I'm not really sure what you mean. Can you send me a screenshot?

****Other****
 Frame rate display has problems displaying numbers when over 100 fps. the number is cut short after the decimal.

Considering that the framerate is not going to be shown in the final version, I'm not worried about that. It's only for debug purposes.

Ick. I thought that I'd fixed that one, too. Did it happen when you had no ships on the map?
