Control Center - Not Happy

How do I get back to CC Ver 1.5 ?
I let the new Stardock Central update my CC and now I don't know how to get back to version 1.5 ?

I need v1.5 because I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE LACK OF VIRTUAL DESKTOP SEPARATION, Ver 1.5 is the last version that worked properly. Does anybody know if this will ever be fixed ?

Dez.

Hi Guys,
I'm a novice here (from Germany) and I have some problem with Control Center too. The first question is does Virtual Desktop from CC work correctly with XP??????? Or I don't have to even fight with it... at all. As I've read, it works with 98/NT/2000 only or?..

Ok now is the problem.

at the recent time, I've bought and installed the full version of the Control Center along with DesktopX and CursorXP(free). With help of BandVWM, I've integrated the Virtual Desktop (from Control Center) into the windows taskbar (but if it is not integrated there, the behavior/problem is just the same). In one of the Virtual desktop windows(frames/sections) the Program Manager replica is appearing maximized (not on the real desktop!). It desturbs a lot is covering some other application windows that have been opened on the same desktop (in the same area). I do not even see a crosshatch beneath (again, the Program Manager (pseudo-)window is maximized). Thus, I need to use the standard windows taskbar to pop up an applications again (they were not minimized, just covered by the Program Manager window). How could I avoid of this situation? If I unload the DesktopX then the Control Center along works better. The Program Manager replica desappears from Virtual desktop. Works better means that from time to time, nevertheless, two windows appear on the standard windows taskbar - Program Manager and Cursor XP. They do not react to the mouse clicks. I do not want to see them too.

The changing of "MinOnRun" registry record values (in several places that belong to Program Manager settings) from 0 to 1 and vice versa has no effect. What's wrong? If you need to know some more details, please do not hessitate to ask me.

I use Windows XP Home Edition, CPU - Pentium 4, 1.8 GHz, 512 MB DDRAM on board, nVidia GeForce 3 Ti 200 with 64 MB RAM on board...

The second, perhaps trivial, question is how could I avoid of the record (caption?) "Virtual Desktops" on the left side of desktop sections integrated into the taskbar. It's just occupying the space needed.

Thanx in advance,

While in Stardock Central try clicking...File...Archive/Restore...Restore Existing, and then pick out the version of Control Center you want to reinstall. And in the future make sure you are archiving everything before updating, which you probably did without knowing.

true enough, but some people dont read the readme file before messing with new stuff./ Which would sove a lot of their problems.

Of course I looked in the Archive/Restore area, Today it lists only version 1.92 After making that observation I realized that I used the "MUCH longer - READ a bunch of documation" approach before clicking "OK" to the new "Stardock Central's" component update request but I didn't ...

Is there not someway of loading CC Version 1.5 from Stardock ?
