Did you really have to ask...?

Yes, did you really have to ask how to solve a problem? I've noticed recently that the majority of problems have been solved by the author without help. All it took was a little patience.

So next time, try a little patience when solving problems instead of asking that needless question 'how do I...' You'll feel much better and we'll have less useless threads to read

Scribe Fuzzy Logic, you are so right. I posted a question which no one bothered to answer because it was so lame, and to which I have to admit I'm a tad embarrassed about now. I did figure it out. It was how to delete one specific object in DX. I opened the list and deleted it from there.

But, having said that, the older beta DX was easier. You just right clicked on the object itself and got the menu for what to do. That's not possible anymore, and it threw me for a loop.

Ya gotta be patient with us beginners. Be happy that we're here. Be happy that we're learning. Painfully sometimes, but learning nonetheless. I am, after all, happy that you're here.

Actually you can right click on objects to delete them. It works well on most objects. I have found it doesn't with some objects like the snowflakes or remote control car. I am hoping they add a "Remove Object" choice in the menu at some point.

..I should add that you can only right click on objects when DX is in "Edit Mode" not "User Mode".

The problem at the moment is there are so many 'how do I' threads which don't need an answer, that people who do genuinely need help get overlooked. Those of us who try to help do it because we want to, but when you arrive first thing an see dozens of questions waiting to be answered it's tempting to turn around! There are so few of us and we are visitors here just like everyone else.

And as I said, it feels so much better when you sort a problem yourself. It also give us the chance to give help to those who really need it

I should add most of the questions aren't actually in the 'Help Discussion' section...

Another sore point

Buck3000 : If You have any issues with Stardock Software the newsgroups are the much better way to go, as Stardock developers don't hang out here very often.

There are a number of problems I've discussed right on this board, for one. And since these are the boards that come up with SC, why would I think I would have to go find a newsgroup?

Also, I've sent in issues with the products via email and have been completely ignored. Read on in other threads, I'm not the only one.

Great products, but seriously lacking in customer support.

If you need to ask a question, just ask. Someone will either know the answer or...er...they won't There's only one way to find out

Um... You are the same person that said, "did you really have to ask". And like Sherri says, she feels bad asking. I do understand your point of view... I'm a software developer myself and often have to tell users to RTFS! (Well, in a nicer manner obviously.)

I went to the newsgroups on c242's suggestion. Seems to be better for getting the hard questions answered, especially if it appears to be a bug. As c242 said, "Stardock developers don't hang out here very often." My first thought when I saw "WC - Help" was that it was controlled by WinCustomize and Stardock. The same group shows up under SC. I see that I was wrong.

But I do thank those of you that did try to help or shared the same grievances.

Thanks!

Look...this is easy here. If you have a question, just ask it. If you want to complaint that no one, for whatever reason, hasn't helped then that's your business and feel free to continue right on, but if you want help now, then ask?
