im having problems with v1.1 patch

from Elemental Forums

ok ill give as much info as i know ok so the game works fine without the patch but when i install the patch it plays a lil wile then freezes tho iv never made it past around 10 turns quests,battles and moving to far on the map always freezes it and building sometimes dose iv tryed it on another pc to make sure it wasn't just mine iv uninstalled it and reinstalled it 3 to 4 times and i also tryed the way by going to the folder manually and deleting it then reinstalling it dident work my computer system stuff is

microsoft windows xp

professional

version 2002

service pack 3

amd athlon(tm) 64 X2 dual

core processor 4800+

2.50 GHz 1.87 GB of RAM

 

if you have any info or suggestions please share =)

i forgot to add my screen go,s white and you can still hear stuff like if i push ESC button i hear the menu pop up

1 what video card?

2 what version of vieo drivers?

3 what version of directx (and date)

you can get all this info from dxdiag, just click on the 'start' button, then click on run (or win7&vshita,click into the text box at the bottom of the menu) type dxdiag and press enter

ok my directx is 9.0c has a number next to it so ill put it in (4.09.0000.0904) and the driver is ATI radeon 2100                                          and chip type is ATI display adapter (0x796E)...........is that the info you needed?

Go ahead and try my stand alone EXE replacement. It may solve it.

dustin, in the dxdiag on the display tab there are three line boxes, look in the one labeled Drivers and reply with the version  and date please, and for your info the latest ati driver is the 10.12 which is dated december 2010. it might help.

drat, from what I remember about the ati radeon 2100 it was intended as a lowend but movie capable video card for home cinema computers from about 3 years ago.

it might be not able to support the game as it might not support particular features that the game wants, and I did have a similar effect back in the beta with a geforce 7600 that now plays the game ok.

well i figured as much so i went and bought a new one that should work really well ill get back to you if it works or not after i take my pc apart to put it in and test it
