DesktpX Fails

Hi,
I load desktopx and it fails - it comes up on the screen, then when I move my cursor, it gives me a notice that Desktopx has failed and to send a message to microsoft - then it goes away. I have stripped it out and reloaded it but it still does not work. Anything I can do - I am trying to run NewLonghorn

Need to tell us which version of DX you are attempting to run. It is possible the theme you are attempting to use doesn't work with the version of DX you have. Of course if it isn't even loading the default theme could mean something else.

Sometimes errors with objects can make this happen. Does the tray icon come up at all? You could try to switch themes through that or go to the object list and get it out that way...

Probably your best bet is to give up.

I've found that if your tray icons don't come up, it means that you've obviously downloaded somthing from Stardock. Try removing that, and try again. When that fails, unload Stardock, and see how long it takes you to clean up your PC.
Sometimes, shit software can stop things working. It looked OK, but graffiti artists spray and walk away...

don't listen to this goober. Desktopx should work and does for almost everybody. However you need to be more specific and try things out on your own. Have you tried to load other themes or blank themes. What type of computer, its os and other factors also effect it. The best bet is if it can't be figured out here in the forums... actually a better idea is to email support for stardock.
