Serial Number Problem.

I have to begin by stating I'm *wildly* unimpressed with the problems I've been having just getting Galactic Civilizations registered. Its starting to get to the point where I'm believing that this is the first software company that actively does not want its product to be registered in any way shape or form.

I had purchased a new copy a few years ago from a chain store after hearing good reviews on the game (Which I agree with, it is a very decent game). I had seemingly no problem installing the game, outside of a bizarre amount of time with the disc spinning in the drive, but it eventually installed, and seemed to be fine with the 28 digit serial number I fed into it when prompted.

Fast forward a couple years, and I find that the bundle for both expansions is available. I had enough free funds to purchase the bundle, installed 'Impulse' to get both, and was halted by what I'm seeing is a common problem: The game mistakenly states that the serial number I had provided is invalid.

I diligently went through every post, every procedure, and even re-installed the game, all to come back to the fact that Impulse refuses to allow me to update.

This problem is compounded when I'm told that I cannot play the two expansion packs I had picked up for the game.

I emailed my problem to the support links given, and in a full week (of non-holidays mind you) I have received a grand total of one reply that wasn't some automated nonsense. I'm incredibly unimpressed with the support so far. To the point that I had told a couple friends who's interest was piqued at the game to not go anywhere near it.

I would have had better luck if I'd have pirated this damn series. That says something about how bungled things seem to be.

So, with support seemingly gone quiet, and hope fading, I'm asking here if anyone else has had a problem with a 28 digit serial number from a game purchased in Canada? Its all in Alpha-Numeric, no dashes, no GC2- at the beginning, and was found on a sticker slapped right on the jewel case I took out of the box.

Where should I go next? I'm already wondering if I can just get the money I wasted on the expansions back and call it a draw.

I have precisely the same problem (though mine was purchased in the USA).

What is the resolution for this issue?

I hate to say but no they wont. Im working on week two with my ticket for twilight of anor. I even called sales (since you cant get anyone else) and they said they would let them know about my ticket and Id hear something within a day or so. Now working on day four from that phone call still not a peep. Perhaps they have given up. Great games but I have to say support is terrible! and btw ticket number is: IIF-334412.

Last I put in for a refund since it hasnt began download since it say key not valid, BUT if it can be made to work I prolly wouldnt care about trying to get money back.
