I noticed there were plenty of monsters roaming around, Faction was conquered about 10 turns before hand and a lot of bear land opened for spawning.

Also I noticed while playing this game often, when I moved my army there would be a group left in that spot. This group would show up on the cloth map and I could not click on them or control them in any way. The enemy factions would do this also.
