Quoting onomastikon, reply 12Can someone explain to a computer idiot how to back up games to disk from impulse please? Thank you.

Is this actually possible, or was that poster being facetious?

It's possible. You can either right click on the app in Impulse and pick "Archive" to make an offline copy, or you can use Impulse Anywhere to download an offline capable installer.

This is an area Impulse has always been good about.

From War of Magic to this, Stardock might be in big trouble like running out of cash to pay the big developers they hired to fix Elemental.

Good bye Impulse.  Hello Gamersgate and GOG, my money will go to you now.

People should try to keep in mind that as much as we love Elemental, it is a relatively small part of our overall company.  Our games business is not what pays our bills. It's been Stardock Software (the enterprise group in particular).

Even without Impulse, 2010 was a very good year for the company.
