Hi, I researched Alliances and even gave it to other races, yet I cant see the alliances option under treaties in the negotiation screen. How do I make alliances? Is this a bug? Did I disable it for the game and not notice it?
You need to have Close relations with a faction before you can offer an alliance. Things like trade routes, econ/research treaties, and a strong but not threatening military tend to help improve relations.
Yeah I finally realized that. I assumed it was like everything else, that you can make an offer and they decline, but it seems the option only becomes avaiable when you can form an alliance at reasonable conditions. I guess its a good thing, to not break the game, so somebody who is at war goes straight to alliance putting down like 100.000 BC and mars or something.
