The "devilsown" you speak of is a warezed version of Windows XP. Warezed programs or topics on such of any kind are not permitted here AFAIK. If you want to mimic the XP look then just pop on over to https://www.stardock.net/ and grab Windowblinds, DesktopX and Objectbar.....

Hope this helps....

Jim, the person who suggested that was making a joke. As DJ said above, devilsown is a warez version of Windows XP on which the activation machanism has been hacked. So, the joke was meant to say "If you want your computer to look exactly like XP, install XP".

Actually the activation on it wasn't hacked, versions of WinXP that are packaged with PCs from OEMs (ie Dell, Gatway etc) will not require activation, and it was leaked from one of these sources.

Not OEM
Corporate
aka Site License scheme (also has the activation hacked out.... who wants to activate 1000 machines one by one?)

devils0wn was gotten straight from inside MS and is the predominant version floating around...

My bad, you are correct likw1d, but I remember reading somewhere that the OEM versions will not require activation either.

AJC: whatr I read is that OEM versions will not need to be activated because the OS version be linked to the BIOS somehow... Don't know all the technical details, but it has to do with the BIOS. The bottom line is even without activation, that particular copy of XP will only work on that particular machine.
