Metro UI

Is it possible to ask one of you amazingly talented skinners to create a Metro Ui skin like the one JayCee13 at DeviantArt has? I tried his but the replacing of system files crashed my win7 64 machine. I barely got it back. I'd like to have the look and I trust you people. Thank you in advance

I started making a Metro themed windowblind a long time ago, but it never got to where I wanted it, and I lost interest. If anyone wants to continue where I left off, I might be able to dig up the old files.  ;)

Since you're a brand new member, I was wondering if you knew you have to have "Windowblinds" (which you don't appear to have) to apply the themes and SkinStudio would be quite helpful as well.

This site is devoted to Windowblinds (a Stardock product and a Stardock owned site) since it does not "replace" Windows System files and what happened to JoDa doesn't happen with Windowblinds. We don't participate with any software which requires/encourages such replacement as it violates Windows warranty and does what happened to JoDa quite frequently.

Perhaps you could post screen shots of your skinning work, or direct us to a link where we could see some examples?

Using mr1029x I searched on deviantArt and found nothing...

If you're thinking of becoming a new member, please let me welcome you and encourage your skinning efforts. :)

From your description it sounds like you were using msstyles for that skin...not recommended...those things as you can see will really mess up your system. I strongly suggest you try WindowBlinds and you won't be sorry at all. ;)

Actually, I have been using WindowBlind for 1 year now and I might know something about it :) I'm new in this 4rum doesn't mean I don't know anythings about it :) Well, If U want some prove,pm me and I could show U my desktop :) Thankz :)

Better, please post the info from "About Windowblinds" in the WB Config window.

Not understanding why you're listed as "Visitor" and not "Customer"... which is why I posted my prior reply.

Well that understandable becuz I'm not really in to those 4rum activities except for the xda :) And as a new member,I don't know what are Visitor or Customer .

And if no one giving me the download link of this Wb skin then ok. I won't bother U guys anymore :) I'm asking for this becuz I haven't made any Skin of my own without basing on others, and I think this one is perfect for me to base on :) Well,Never mind :)

Bud...you made no mention about using WindowBlinds in your initial post and your said something about how it messed up your system which sounded to me like you were using msstyles...

It was Joda (ya know, him that started the post?!!!) who said that not mr1029x. He merely asked for a link and he gets a lecture. I'd take a hike too if that was the responds!

My response to mr1029x was to post his "About" data. He has not done so.

There was a definite reason for that, 2of3.

He has been using WB for over a year, so I'm guessing it isn't the trial edition.

There can be legitimate reasons as to why he's listed as a visitor rather than current customer. He just joined the site today, after all. And I fail to see it would be required for him to provide his info as he walks in the door.

Tim...I mistakenly thought he was the original poster responding to what I said...we all make "mistakes" so chill out yourself ok. It wasn't meant as a lecture!!!...I was merely mentioning something to him...I don't lecture people...unless they feel some need to lecture me about something they "think" I said. So...someone makes a mistake and gets a lecture. It would have been much more productive to just point out he wasn't the original poster and I could have edited my post...than getting all huffy about it and making an assumption about what I said. Why is it that some people feel this need to make a mountain out of a molehill?

2of3: It's not your place to ask a Moderator why he's asking questions, and I don't require any assistance from you.

Whoa guys, I didn't mean to cause all this controversy. Yes, it is a hacked msstyle and I'd like to use a windowblinds skin rather than this which was the reason for the post.

You didn't...everythings cool. ;) And yeah JoDa...msstyles aren't good for your pc...WindowBlinds is much better.

JoDa, you didn't cause anything: You're fine.

There used to be a utility to port from mssstyles to WB, but it doesn't work with WB7. Sorry. Other than doing the port by yourself or getting a skinner to help you, you're out of luck, I'm afraid.

Actually, it does work with WB7, but the only msstyles available are for XP and they don't look so good on 7. I have several msstyles imported into WB7 on my XP rig. Works fine. I even ported some Hyperdesks into WB7.
