Bottom Section Search Box Position

Skin Studio 7 Search Box Placement

Hi

Have searched and tried applying changes to the Hor/Vert position of the bottom search box.

No matter what the setting used in Skin Studio (under "Bottom Bar" -extra settings -  Search Box Off Set) the position of the search box remains fixed.

Does not seem to be effected by any alteration of the hor/vert settings.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm gonna hazard a guess here. Mind you I know nothing about making a WB but...isn't the position fixed when you do the slice and dice thing. Divide the start menu up in five pieces. Hit me over the head if you think this is a dumb question.

It's position is adjusted in the start menu, bottom bar, extra settings area. You may have to use positive (30 up to even 80 possibly), not negative numbers to notice movement.  I can also tell you by the looks of your screenshot it appears your bottom bar is sitting way to high up off the taskbar and that would effect vertical movement of the search box significantly.  Definitely need to move bottom bar down some.

Thanks to both of you -

I would not have guess to try values that high to alter the position.

Will reduce the hight of the bottom piece and try higher values for movement.

Thanks

Yep-

Putting the bottom part flush with the task bar and setting the Hor. Search Box Off Set at 35 - did it.

Thanks

Glad you fixed the problem. Fixing the search area may have left enough room between your shutdown button. If you want to move that in case you don't know.

Edit startmenu/edit start menu logoff images/normal arrow/extra settings.

unless you wanted it that way then you could adjust the vertical position the same place you fixed the search box offset.

Absolutely right, but I did not think the vertical movement adjustment would have allowed the search box to go that high in the settings. All a game of experimentation though. :)

One of the tricks I use when I have my startmenu off the taskbar by more than a couple of pixels:  I add blank pixels to the top and bottom of my search box graphic.   That way, you are "tricking" the placement of the search bar, and then, you don't have to adjust the vertical position so much...you just have to make sure the search bar looks ok in the rest of your skin.
