AI refuse to play

Hello everyone,

I'm testing a galaxyforge map I've made where its 4 vs 3 vs 3. All AI is on vicious and I wanted to see how it would play out with all Entry points into our System where heavily barricaded. Meaning 4 TEC, Advent and Vasari bases each at the sun and 1 each at each wormhole.

Now to do this I had to place myself on AI and change to player 2 and 3. However once I've commanded the ships to create their Bases and change back to my original team, the AI just stopped doing anything at all and refuse to defend themselves. I've tried to change the AI to easy and back to Vicious but that didn't work. So far I reloaded the game from a previous save before I change teams which seem to fix the problem.

Any advice on bouncing between AI and Player without AI refusing to play?

Thanks

If you turned off the variable like IsAIActive or something like that while setting things up on their end, you'd need to turn it on again... other than that, I'm not sure.

If you played one group and switched, sometimes the group you switched from will act as if it has surrendered--not sure why.  Apparently when it sees your player status attached to it, it doesn't do anything (note your player name is still the name of the group in the menu).

  • Create one extra player no with worlds or ships.
  • Make it "NewPlayer0"
  • Set Randomize Starting Positions to "False".
  • Start the game, and after the "You've Been Defeated" pop-up appears select, "Continue Playing".
  • Save the game.
  • Restart and select the position you want to play.

Best workaround I know of.

If you just want to observe, after selecting "continue playing", your defeated position will allow you to see the entire galaxy map and watch all sides.
