Help with colour customization

n00b kind of lost

Greetings, very new to the product, but very excited. Have been fiddling around with it pretty much unendlessly the past couple of days.

I just have a problem that I can't seem to solve. I've cofigured the colours, fonts and other aspects of my favourite skin, but I can't seems to solve a particular problem. I need the "System Colour: WindowText" to be completely black for my purposes, but this creates a problem because some pop-up windows have their background colour black as well. Not all of them, but a good example is the WindowBlinds Settings window. That simply displays as black text on a black background. Can I change the background colour of windows like that, and what would be the correct parameter?

I could really benefit from a detailed explanation of what all of the parameters exactly mean. I haven't found a list in any documentation and I've kind of proceeded with a trial and error approach.

henrikanttonen, you might find some of the answers you're looking for here:

http://wiki.wincustomize.com/wiki/Newbies_Corner

http://wiki.wincustomize.com/wiki/Windowblinds:_Advanced_Per_App_Skinning

Also, you might (depending on your meaning) might need to change some of the skin's attributes. This can be done in SkinStudio... but I don't know if you have that app. It might be the one you need... hard to say from what you describe.

Anyway, some of your questions might well be answered in the WinWiki... and welcome!

Im not sure but i believe you can only fix that in skinstudio since the text color is defined by the skin.

Doc got fast fingers mine are icy cold so i loose xD

Just open any skins up in SKS go to Skin Colors section and click System defined colors, and change it there.... then resave the skin.

I'm afraid I only have WindowBlinds itself. The options I have are the ones given to be by going to the Colours tab and then opening "Change skin system colours..."

Opt 1. Get Skinstudio. Opt 2. Change skin

The recoloring you want to do just is too advanced to be fixed only with the software thats meant mainly for applying skins not Actually creating them -"Windowblinds" :sun:

That's what I was afraid of. I don't have the funds to buy SkinStudio, even Windowblinds was a gift. It's too bad that I didn't realise that I should've asked for the bundle that had it with it.

Well, I can still use the skin, because I've managed to modify it quite a lot to the point where I'm really comfortable with it if you don't count this one issue. And the rare cases where it does become a problem, I can just change the text colour to get it done.

Thanks all for all the help and the swiftness of your replies.
