What is Trinity?

Does Trinity mean you have access to all versions of the game, or does it mean that you can play a game that incorporates all the versions into one?

Thanks.

Trinity is basically a fancy word for Diplomacy. It was a dumb naming decision IMO because it just confuses people (like you). The "trinity" is to emphasize the fact that you have all 3 parts: Sins, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy.

...but if you have Diplomacy that means you must have Entrenchment, and the original Sins... so there isn't much point to the name other than another name to advertise.

This.

Also makes some people purchase trinity thinking its a new game. my cousin did that when he originally had all three versions. I still laugh at him up to this point.

Well... at least your cousin now only has to worry about 1 box instead of 3...

In some way, Rebellion will be "Quadrinity"... you will have sins+ent+dip+reb... no standalone is planned...

So, will you laugh at your cousin again when he will buy Rebellion ?

Really? What I heard was that it would just be Rebellion itself, and while incorporating features of the other expansions, wouldn't offer the separate games as playable.

well, when you launch the diplomacy exe, you have diplomacy incorporating the features of sins and ent...

It is maybe a good idea from Stardock that Rebellion will only allow to play Rebellion... community is already enough fragmented as it is... and each .exe have some improvement who was never ported to the previous version... by example, some of the TSOP optimization was included in Diplomacy but not in sins or ent...

Rebellion will be the last release for sins, good idea to consolidate everything in a single .exe..
