Unsure If This Is A Bug Or Not

I just recently purchased the retail copy of the ultimate edition.  I have been able to complete a few games successfully with no issues, but a strange thing has occurred twice now with my logistics.  All of sudden, my logistics will drop to zero (they were around 15 or 18 believe).  Then any ships that I had in fleets completely disappear.  I am able to continue building ships but I can never create a fleet again, even if research logistics farther.  Is there something that I am doing in regards to the enhancements I am researching that is have some kind of counter effect on my logistics or is this just a bug?  Thanks in advance

You've been hit by the Plague or Disease Mega Event, which reduces all of your ability bonuses to 0 until you research the cure.  There's a new tech in your choosable research tech list called either Disease Cure or Plague Cure (I've forgotten which is which); research it immediately-and then trade it to the AIs...for lots of cash, of course. ;)

You can-and probably should-turn Mega Events off (in game setup)...at the very least until you're comfortable with the rest of the game.

The mega event in question should inform you whats happening when it happen. It would be a video with some text below it. Logistics wouldn't be the only stat affected. Nearly every stat should be back to 0.

However, I never had ships in a fleet simply disappear. The ships tend remain in fleets until I disband them.

Thanks all.  I guess I should actually read those mega event screens when they pop up.
