Photoshop Problem Help

All of a sudden when I click on a graphic in my folder it opens in Photoshop using a tab. So I go to the menu Window/Arrange and click on Float all in window and the graphic is on the work space. When I open another window it opens with a tab on the graphic that is already open and have to either go back and click on Float all in window or drag it off the graphic. I use to have and want back that when I open how ever many graphics they all open in there own window and I can just drag them around where ever I want.

This happened once before and when I went and clicked the Float all in window the problem went away. Now I have to do it each time. Any suggestions as I can't seem to find the permanent solution?

Thanks Dave

Which version of Ps are you working with, Dave? I'll take it you're in Windows, not Mac ;)

Try this:

To prevent images from opening in tabs in the future, do the following:

  1. Choose Photoshop > Preferences > Edit > Preferences > Interface (Windows).
  2. Deselect Open Documents as Tabs.
  3. Deselect Enable Floating Document Window Docking.
  4. Click OK.
