Help with fixing several problems with old skin

Hey!

I used a specific skin several years ago, with Windows XP, and now I would like to start to use it again, but it has several features

that does'nt work as they're supposed to in Windows Vista/7. First of all, if you go to a website, or a program installation that has

check boxes, you can't see them, which makes it pretty hard to use the skin. Then there's this issue: I've got the taskbar on the

right side of my monitor, and when the programs that are open are listed there first of all they start to far down the taskbar, there's

a quite big gap between the start-menu button, and the first program, which also is kind of a problem, and last there's a too big space

between the open-program buttons, now I wonder, is there any way that I can fix these problems myself ? I've got SkinStudio, and I

have tried to open the skin but I don't really know how to fix it, please help me.

You're trying to use an XP skin on Win7. Most XP skins will not show correctly on Win7, dimensions of the start menu, frames and placement of text is very different. This isn't true of all XP skins but for most it is. I don't think Olympics has been updated for Win7 or not. Might want to PM treetog and ask him.

Yes, Fixing up a skin made for XP to work on 7/Vista is a Major thing, not just somethin someone can just "help" you with in a jiffy. :\

Yes I know it's built for XP. It has'nt been updated for win 7, and I have already contacted treetog, but he told me that he is'nt working with windowblinds anymore, so it would'nt be any updated version of Olympics, and that's why I was asking for anyone who could help me/point me in the right direction so I could fix it myself. I have no intentions what so ever of releasing a updated version, if I manage to fix the issues, if I don't get permission from treetog ofcourse. If he does'nt respond to my request, or if he denies me to release an updated version, I will only use it for myself, but I would really like to fix the issues and at least be able to use it for myself. That's the main goal.

Sorry, did'nt see more than the first reply since I did'nt update the page before posting my reply, but I can understand what you are saying. But do you know if there's any guide or anything that might help me to fix all of my issues, or any one of them, at all ?

Tjena Henrik, -Det bästa sättet är att köpa Skinstudio och läsa en "tutorial" och att fråga oss här om det skiter sig. hoppas det hjälper dig.

-The best solution is to buy Skinstudio, read the Tutorials and try to do it yourself, ask this helping community for advice when needed. :sun:

Hehe, okej, jag har prövat lite själv med skinstudio, dock inte läst någon tutorial, men givetvis så får jag ju göra det om det inte går att lösa på ett annat sätt... :)
