Trinity vs Expansions

Question: I've been out of the loop for a while. When I bought Entrenchment and Diplomacy, they didn't combine in the game (it was one or the other). Does Trinity combine all in one game play? Is there a way to do that without purchasing Trinity?

Diplomacy has everything entrenchment has, trinity is just like the "gold edition" for people who don't have any of the games.
