[Crash] Can't load a saved game C++ Runtime Error!

I've had this issue since I started the beta, and stil get it today after the patch. Sometimes when I got to load my saved game, it crashes and gives me this screen:

 

Which is then followed by an "elemental has stopped working" message.

Checking through my zipped crashes it doesn't make one when this happens. So I can't upload the crash from this to show the error. I have not been able to complete a game yet, although they have all been on medium to large maps.

bumping this up, maybe someone knows what it is, as it keeps popping up randomly when I load sometimes forcing a restart. Sometimes I can load an autosave however.

Can a kind soul please donwload and try to load my save and see if you get the same error so I know what to troubleshoot?

I ran into this on one my games.(both the save and autosave for that particular game ran into this)Started a new game and Haven't had it happen since though.

So its not just me. I have yet to finish an actual game. Mind you they are all on default or slower speed. Maybe after so many turns its getting unloadable?

Okay looking back on all my games, the one thing I can think of they all had in common was that I did the Tournament questline and shortly after that my saves get borked.

https://forums.elementalgame.com/416874 This also confirms what I found, but I dug a little deeper into the bug cause as well.

 

It seems any quest that has you do multiple fights, will corrupt your save game. There is another quest that has you do back to back fights (sorry forgot the name at the moment) and if you save after that one and try to load it up it will cause the same error. 

 

All in all glad to see this getting some attention finally. I was going nuts thinking it was only me before Fistalis came along.

Maybe thanks to those efforts if time allows I might be able to pick up the beta again. :)

good news!  this will be fixed in the next patch (it's fixed locally).  For those curious, it wasn't chained quests but actually a tech that gets unlocked from that specific quest :)
