Mana dropping for no reason

I have played two games now and this has occurred both times. At some point my mana begins to decline even though I do not cast any spells, have no spells being maintained and it shows a positive number for the mana per turn. When it gets to zero it adds for a turn or two then begins to subtract again. I can find no reason for it.
