Help!

So I got the beta installed, but when I launched it I got a black screen with what I assume to be the start up movie sounds playing. When I click or otherwise skip it I can hear the main menu sounds playing. The only reason I know that it's the main menu is that when I alt-tab out I get a short flash of the top left quarter of that screen stretched across the entire screen. If I'm lucky I'll get a static shot of the same quarter when I tab back in. It seems to be running, I just can't see anything.

I've tried updating my drivers/restarting my comp/wishing real hard so far to no avail.

Edit 1--Verifying game cache/trying to run in windowed mode didn't work either. It seemed to ignore all the changes that I made to rebellion.user.setting.

Edit 2--Reinstalled, same problem, no change.

So uh... help?

Okay, this just got weird.

So I plugged in my monitor (I'm on a laptop) so I could watch some internet videos while trouble shooting. The next time I launched the game suddenly I could see! Well, I could see the top right quarter, and it was even moving(!), it was also torn and stuff, like how everything looks when a graphics card fails. I was able to get into a game by spamming enter, and I could use keyboard controls and I could scroll across the map when my mouse hit the edges of the screen, but I couldn't click on anything.
