Beta 1 [Modding, Screenshots] Vasari and Advent

I'm very impressed with TEC vs TEC race the titian are amazing though there are a few bugs and crashes but I'm sure they will be worked out when the next patch is released, my guess on the next beta is likely in 3 weeks.

 

My questions are

 is posting screenshots allowed? as steam refuses to allow me to set the pictures to public, i did not see any nda's and the Eula did not say anything about screenshots... (others are posting screenshots)

Is modding allowed in the first beta?, I'm aware that there is no ref files using diplomacy's ref files seems to work perhaps very unintended.

^ above statement i don't really want to get banned for talking about mods for the first beta or posting screenshots of any progress of adding new units to the game. (to get a head start to prepare for final game)

According to the eula mods are allowed, but maybe unintended for the betas?

I will not comment on mods/screenshots further into stardock employ or moderator gives the thumbs up on Modding or sharing screenshots, perhaps sending the screenshots to moderator first to see if it's acceptable?

Alright, i will provide some Teaser screenshots, i don't want to release information on this mod into stardock devs say it's alright to take more screenshots.

I spent a great deal of time and effort only experienced modders might know how this is achieved.

I know The DS Team will especially be interested in this screenshot.

 

this screenshot shows nothing important but this is the Vasari.

 

i will take down the screenshot if requested in this topic.

Things are coming along nicely. this is still very complex, hope you all enjoy the teasers. i really hope the devs don't mind me showing screenshots.

I was worried about showing the other races hence why I'm sticking to The screenshots are rather small and lower quality on text/lore takes more effort to read the lore.

I'm expecting them to be slightly surprised on how fast a mod like this was developed and I am pretty excited for the future betas.

It kinda beats the purpose of a beta though, they want us to test the tec faction (probably because it's the only faction that's 100% done).

Thanks for the screenshots though, very interesting.

Did you just use the player entities from diploamcy and update them using trial and error by configuring Sins to show the Error-Dialogs? Could you pm me the entity files?

I'm pretty sure the devs would have stripped all this out if they really didn't want us to find it.

 

I think they secretly like it... we tease ourselves, thus saving them the trouble of doing so

I must admit, on day one I predicted that someone would be crazy enough to make a mod for the beta in order to play with the other four factions. Great job - I hope that my skills can compare to yours someday, war450.

Edit: One question though... Did they fix the Domina Subjugator? It is a psionic ship - it should not have to face its target to either heal it or cripple it.

Could you possibly post screens of tech descriptions for vasa?   Or maybe just upload the mod, since there's no NDA.

Well i figuered an easy way to get all Titans but this beats it by far.

I will of course remove this post if the Devs don t want it floating around (or it will be removed by them : same result)

 

Simple modding so it is ok according to EULA:

(Just change the spawn templates in the galaxyscenariodef takes around 10 minutes(Titannames can be found in the same document))

 

Disclaimer: please bear in mind that those Titans are by no means the finished Version (not even Betafinished is what i mean)!!!

So are you actually able to play the other two races now then? If so it would be wonderful if you could post the modifications you made to allow it. (or better yet post it as a mod)

As someone who's always preferred Vasari, being stuck with TEC kind of kills a lot of the fun of playing the beta. (+ all the skills etc are completely alien)

Here is my full list of plans, i will likely release the mod though the first beta intention is testing tec though we already pretty much know everything about them now and yes the advent and vasari teams are not exactly 100% complete yet, advent is the closest to being complete it's likely that beta 2 will include advent.

 

I'm doing small tests right now online with a few select people.

 

with the mod, i made a development version to test extra changes aside for just allowing advent and vasari to be played.

 

*development version only*


*make pirate raids slightly stronger

*give pirates a titan at raid level 4. *will likely just be a tec titan*

*much more.
