AI Capital Ship loop

On my first round of playing, I was Rebels and went against three hard AIs. In two separate instances I noticed one of them sending a capital ship, on it's own, to a planet that I was in the process of conquering with a massive fleet (Titan and 7 capital ships, as well as a lot of other ships), seeing the size of the forces, and turning around to leave, though sufficiently slowly that my fleet was still able to do damage...and then it came back and repeated the process, continuing to do so until I destroyed it. A few planets down the road, the same thing happened again, except there were apparently 4 different capital ships caught in the same loop, arriving, leaving, and returning until I left my titan there to destroy them. Not sure what could be causing it, but since it did allow me to take out 5 of their capital ships without much of a fight (not that they would have been much trouble anyways, dang that titan is AWESOME)  I don't think it is what was intended.

Yes I have this issue too and it needs fixing Most of the Ais only get around five planets or so, and there ships get stuck in the feedback loop as I called it.

-_- AI is mentally challenged in the beta... just wait until its balanced later in the game

I call it the "Jump dance".

Seems to mostly happen when I have a massive fleet in the gravity well it jumps to. Sometimes the AI have five or more capital ships doing the dance one after the other.

Also it usually have a big fleet in the gravity well it jumps from and if its whole fleet had jumped at the same time It would have a chance at victory.

End of Ravagus's quote
It's just messed up AI behavior. Every AI difficulty keeps moving their capital ships between two planets all the time. I know the dev's are not spending too much attention to the AI at the moment, but it would be nice if they fixed this with the next patch nonetheless.

Well there have to be triggers that break the jump dance because when I finally jump my fleet into the gravity well the AI jumps from they stand and fight.

I'm starting to wonder if the AI thinks all of its capitals are "flagships", even if that victory condition is not enabled, and letting them hang back to protect them.

I actually did have an unfair AI attack me during one game with some decent sized fleets (killed my level 1 ankylon when it caught me off-guard) but no enemy capital ships were present.

The normal fleet movements from the AI (at higher levels at least, I only play against vicious AI's) seem to work just fine. Only the Capital ships and Titans need to be fixed (I only saw one Ai player actually jump his titan from one gravity well to defend another, but this has happened only once).
