Add Remove Programs: Fences Pro and Fences®Pro

I have two entries in my Windows Add/Remove Programs utility. Fences Pro at 8.53Mb and Fences®Pro at 10.66Mb.

Previously, tonight, I managed to remove Fences (Free) and that did not mess with my screen.

I thought I'd try to remove Fences Pro, just leaving Fences®Pro.

But, Fences went, I lost my fences. I did a system restore and got Fences back.

Actually, I though that before I removed Fences Pro, it had the same Mb's as Fences®Pro and it's now shown as downsized to 8.53Mb.

Anyway, should I not be able to have one Fences entry in Add@Remove Programs? Thanks.

When you first installed Fences, how did you do it? Impulse/GameStop? Web page?  SDC?

Okay, I ran GameStop Now.  I uninstalled FENCES from there.  I did NOT choose to delete everything.

Then I had a reboot.

Then I went into Microsoft's ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS utility.  I saw a Fences Pro entry, but the utility reported an error. I simply had the utility remove Fences Pro in the listing.

I opened GameStop Now.  I installed FENCES PRO again.

I looked at Microsoft's ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS utility, and now just see Fences Pro in the list at 8.53 Mb.  (Shows 9.90Mb in Gamestop Now).

And then I did an update from FENCES program itself. I'm up to date with v1.1.0.419

No idea why, before I unistalled, I had an entry in the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS utility list that said Fences®Pro (10.66Mb.)

I presume I have the full Pro version.

We've transitioned away from using Impulse/Gamestop Downloader to download Stardock software since the sale of Impulse to GameStop.

You can access your registrations and download links for stand-alone installers by logging in with your Stardock account here: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

You can also download Stardock Central (currently in beta) at https://www.stardock.com/products/stardockcentral/ to manage your installs.

If you've installed something through Impulse/Gamestop, though, you'll want to uninstall through it as well.

Okay, I chose the standalone download.

First, I uninstalled through Impulse/GameStop, choosing NOT to delete everything. If you delete everything I think you might need  to set up your fences from scratch. Not a good thing, if you have lots of fences like me.

I went to:

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

My username and pass came up automatically. I signed in.

The website knew my code, so that I did not have to put in the registration code when installing. It was shown on the Stardock webpage.

Installed and everything okay. I did not loose my fences when FENCES came back up.So, I'm sorted. Thanks.

Oh, I did then uninstall Impulse/GameStop with Microsoft's  ADD/UNINSTALL PROGRAMS. Although it mentioned FENCES being uninstalled, it did not remove FENCES I'd just installed by the standalone method.

Bookmarked Stardocks webpage.

End of Rosco_P's quote

I uninstalled Impulse/Gamestop. Don't know where to download it to uninstall WC/Stardock products.

I did however uninstall FX4 with REVO Uninstaller with success. SCD then had no problem installing FX5.
