Hi, I wanted to preorder Rebellion and pay using paypal. However, for some reason it asks me for credit/debit card info - though I never needed to provide this information during previous purchases ( and I am not willing to do so). Is it obligatory to use credit/debit card for this purchase? (why paypal then... ?)
You should be able to pay by PayPal. On the payment screen, make sure you are clicking the bottom most 'Continue' button:
Yeah, I know - but after I chose paypal option it asks me to add credit/debit card to paypal account and I cant proceed without doing so.
What happens after clicking that button is strictly in PayPal's house, we don't have any control over that. I'd talk to PayPal at this point, as you should be able to pay in other non-card ways.
From what I understand from talking to paypal before is that because stardock requires instant payment and to do so you need to have funds in your account. It will take the funds from the paypal account first, then the bank account you have linked to your paypal.
What the credit card does if there isn't enough funds from your bank, it would take from there instead.
I have bought it using Steam and paying by paypal ... no credit/debit card info required
