Pathfinder mission not completing

This is for the Steam version of GCII.

I'm playing through the campaign and am on the Pathfinder mission. The Altarians have already wiped out the Yor and Dread Lords for me (they no longer show up on the quarterly reports), but the mission isn't ending.

There was a report about this on the forums from 4 years ago, and the response was to check the Pathfinder.gc2scenario file and edit the AllianceVictory value to 1 instead of 0. I went and checked that file and it was set to 1 already, so that solution doesn't help.

Anything else I should try/post here for you to see?

No information on this? Disappointing. Guess I'll confine myself to playing custom games.

I haven't ever encountered this, so I can't be sure, but it's almost certainly related in some way towards playing the campaign on Ultimate Edition rather then the original Dread Lords.

Are you sure the scenario has the right enemies flagged? For instance, I know that "Apocalypse" was bugged when player 11 - originally the Dread Lords - became the Krynn, who weren't in the scenario and so couldn't be defeated.

Well, it looks like the Yor and Dread Lords are marked as active, but there's one part I'm not sure about. Here are the values for the 4 races in this mission:

[Human]
Human=0
Drengin=0
Altarian=9
Arcean=0
Torian=0
Yor=-1
Korx=0
Drath=0
Thalan=0
Iconian=0
Custom=0
Dreadlords=-1

[Altarian]
Human=9
Drengin=0
Altarian=0
Arcean=0
Torian=0
Yor=-1
Korx=0
Drath=0
Thalan=0
Iconian=0
Custom=0
Dreadlords=-1

[Yor]
Human=-1
Drengin=0
Altarian=-1
Arcean=0
Torian=0
Yor=0
Korx=0
Drath=0
Thalan=0
Iconian=0
Custom=0
Dreadlords=-1

[Dreadlords]
Human=-1
Drengin=0
Altarian=-1
Arcean=0
Torian=0
Yor=-1
Korx=0
Drath=0
Thalan=0
Iconian=0
Custom=0
Dreadlords=0

I'm guessing that the Dread Lords and Yor should be set to 9 like the Humans and Altarians? Also, common sense would tell me that the humans should be set as 9 under humans and same for the Altarians. Or is this all this way because I've already "won" the scenario?

What you're looking at is relations settings. "9" means the race in question is on a team with the other race, so that looks correct for you and the Altarians. The Dread Lords and Yor are not on a team, so they should not be set to 9.

Your problem actually may be in the rules after all - after doing some checking myself, I've discovered that Alliance Victory is set to 1 only on the version of the scenario in the original game files, but not the version in the Twilight folder. Are you sure you checked the right place before?

Oh, I didn't know there were two different files. I was looking at the scenario file in Data->English->Campaigns. After what you said, I took a look at the file in Twilight->Data->English->Campaigns->DreadLords and saw AllianceVictory=0. I'll set that to 1 and see if it lets me finish.

I was also wondering why the Altarians were able to wipe out everyone when they were completely useless previously, but I'm not going to complain since the Dread Lords are a pain in the butt to fight.

Anyway, thanks! I'll post back here if things still aren't working.

Note that you're going to have to play through the scenario again for the changes to take effect - editing a file will never affect any currently saved games.

Well I started the mission from the beginning and the Dread Lords were much more active this time. But right in the middle of building up for my offensive, I got a victory message about "stealing the Salvation Device from under the Dread Lords' noses" or some such thing. So I guess the Altarians captured something? Wish I had actual confirmation that my original issue was solved, but a win's a win I guess. Thanks for the help!
