Thinking about getting rebellion, few questions.

I remember playing soase for a bit back when i came out and i really enjoyed it but i also remember it being fairly deep. I was just going to reinstall it and possibly grab the expansions but i saw they were coming out with a new one and even better theres a beta.

Im wondering if i should just grab the new one instead as im looking for something to play with until Diablo 3 comes out. Just wondering how much content is in the beta and if its something that can keep me busy for awhile. Thanks!

I guess I'd call it fairly deep, yet accessible. All the choice with the tech trees and upgrades is a bit overwhelming for a new player, but I just play and learn it bit by bit.

Currently there's TEC factions (each now has loyalist and rebel subfactions) and Advent factions. I don't yet know if they have major differences, but at least not visual ones.

I guess I'd recommend this rather than the expansions, since this has all of their features too. It's a long time since I played the last one but I think that the models now have more polygons and more detailed textures.

Overall though, it is and feels like SoaSE with add-ons, so if you've played the old one, the experience won't feel new.

Yea, i realized its more of a stand alone expansion, but i built a new system since i last played the game and it will be nice to run the game at a smooth frame rate as well. Honestly my favorite part of these games has always been the exploration, i love finding and occupying new systems for some reason.
