what do we have to do for a mere patch here???

I have bought a retail version of soase and now I´m looking for over an hour for the 1.191 patch (or the 1.19). Every damn link leads to information ABOUT the patch but the patch itself is nowhere to be found. Now I have created an account since there was AGAIN no patch to be found after pushing the update button of the game menu and also the patch is not in the download section.

If you are calling this support then something is really wrong here.

Why is a damn patch not available without ANY hassle like logins and stuff???

The gaming industry wonders why PC gaming is going down the drain nowadays.... Well THAT´s exactly one of the reasons. We used to install a game, download a patch (if even) and then the fun started. Nowadays now we are forced create useless accounts, use steam or other online platforms and are being sent in circles just to receive the last game version.

The version who came with the retail package was 1.05 (only 4 years old /rolleyes).

All patches for Sins of a Solar Empire need to be installed by a download client. You can't just download it off the web. That can be either Gamespot's store (retail) and in the future Stardock's new download app (sadly you can't update original Sins from them yet).

Thats what I mean... why make it easy when it can be made complicated. Why cant this "client" be in the download section on the game website... I dont get it.

I did not buy it from gamestop thus have no account there and still I dont know where EXACTLY the patch is available... How hard can it be for a game homepage to include that information? Why do we have to search for hours???

That´s my first contact with stardock and it´s not at all motivating me to buy another game from them tbh...

It should have said that when you tried the update button... but maybe they changed it after they sold their client, Impulse, to gamestop, which is unfortunately why you now have to use your software. But once you have the patch you can safely uninstall it.

Great help homepage of impulse... so what? Now I´m supposed to create an account there 2 to get a patch???

This game is worth the extra effort.  And I think you will look back on this and laugh and laugh...

But really, it takes about 5 minutes to create an account.  An average Sins game can go on for hours.

Now go get that patch and start the best years of your adult gaming life!

Download the app from the main page, create an account, and register the game, yes.

Thx.

This makes me understand why people are just downloading cracked games via torrent though, because we´re being punished for being actual customers threatened like pirates and taken for a ride when we just would like to get the software purchased updated.

Someone in charge should put this info on the link of the update button. Because this link (https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/update) is useless to everyone who got the game in an actual store. It doesnt have ANY useful information about the update process and no info about the impulse website nor about what you have to do when you are there which is pathetic when this really the only way to receive the latest patch when bought in a store.
