Previous Owner + Rebellion Question

Long time player and owner of SoaSE. Repurchased Trinity some time last year when I realized I forgot to get the newest expansion pack and wanted a physical copy of the game. 

With it now being on Steam, there is no way to carry my key over, correct? I could make a link to the game through Steam or just repurchase it. Also if I preorder Rebellion through Stardock to get my $10, I will still be able to unlock Rebellion on Steam and get the beta through Steam, yes?

Rebellion uses Steamworks, so if you preorder it from Stardock you'll get it from Steam.

Trinity retail on the other hand came out when Stardock owned Impulse. You can either tie it to the Gamestop Download App or get updates/redownloads from the Stardock website, but only people who bought Trinity on steam have the steam version.
