Faction bug in Trinity/Diplomacy

This has happened twice while I was playing on a Random-Huge map. A message appeared while I was playing, saying that an enemy Advent faction has been defeated in my home system. Yet I go over to my system and to my surprise, they're still alive. Their home planet was just being attacked. Thats it. It didn't even get wiped out, it barely managed to survive my ally's attack. Yet with all the planets they still have, they're for some reason defeated.

This also happened with one of the top factions in the game too. This enemy Vasari faction thats bigger and stronger than me was suddenly "defeated". They and another enemy faction own the biggest system all on their own, and they're allies. They haven't even broken the peace treaty with their ally and all their planets were still in tact too. So wtf???

Has this happened to anyone else???? And does the latest update patch this up because I'm short on the most recent update.

Go to the diplomacy screen and see if their player window is cracked. When players are defeated they may have planets and ships left (especially if you left the capital victory on), but their stuff will just sit there. They won't build anything else or give new orders, but their existing ships and structures will still attempt to fight any intruders.

They're dead, the screen is cracked. But I don't have capital victory on. Its like they just hit surrender even though they were still in a good state.

End of Omega-Section-Alpha's quote

The AI is capable of surrendering without any one condition eliminating it, but usually the condition is pretty helpless. If they're giving up while fighting a big battle, losing a planet or getting hit by a novalith, its probably not unusual.

Well I could see why the first guy gave up. He was loosing his home planet. But I don't know why the Vasari faction gave up. They're seriously fine. They have more money than me, same amount of planets, better fortification, etc. Its probably just a quick bug I experienced.....hopefully it stays that way. Besides, that guy is my main enemy. I don't want him to die.... at least not yet *_*
