What we really need...

Is a space compass! This is something I've really missed from day one. Moving the camera around and zoom in to epic space battles is fun and all, but I often refrain from doing so as I completely lose my orientation and then spent 5 minutes putting the map back the way it was.

Is there any chance something like this could be included?

Or the ability to hotkey specific views centred on a certain planet with a specific camera orientation which would also help moving between separate stars.

Also the V and B keys zoom in and out respectively. While the Z key instantly zooms in as close as possible to the selected object and the C key will bring you back to the galaxy (over)view.

My space compass is the line between my hw and the sun. One of the very first things I do in a game is zoomout and orient the map.

since there is no overall map of where all this is taking place, no need for compass

Would be nice the the [Home] key selected your home world, it's usually easy to refer from there and it would be quick shortcut to build cap ships/titans/1st super weapon from.

The [End] key could also move to the most recently colonized planet - which is usually where the bulk of your fleet is.

Maybe the [Page up] / [Page down] keys could move to next/previous planet that was colonized relative to the currently selected one.
