Fleet battle question and microing

Hi guys, I'm new to sins so don't bash me too much ok :D

I was just wondering, one day I was playing as vasari against a hard vasari ai. my fleet was twice as big as the ai's and I had full upgrades (I checked the ai's ships - does less damage than mine) but I was really confused how he could beat my fleet so easily. I had to use the dark fleet power to constantly send in reinforcements just to keep the fight even.

I know some would say I have to micro or something along those lines but how would I do that? microing in sins is pretty hard (compared to starcraft at least hahaha)

Any help would be appreciated :D

Fleet size doesn't matter so much as fleet balance and skill use do.  If you micro better than the AI (not hard once you learn), you can easily defeat it even when drastically outnumbered.

It's also quite easy to micro once you get used to it.  Just get used to pressing Z,X, and C for zoom levels.  That alone should speed you up providing you aren't doing so already.

thanks for the tip. guess I just need to get used to microing then (the ships take forever to turn and move around) :D

Yep.  If you have Rebellion, you may also want to learn what target banks the titans are strongest wiith.  For instance, the Coronata can't hit things to it's left or right whereas the Vorastra can't hit things behind it.

Perhaps most importantly, learn the counters.  Probably the best option is just to look through the Gameplay.constants file to see what weapons types deal what sort of damage against what armor types.  For instance, Composite damage (corvettes and heavy cruisers) deals 150% against light armor (LRF) and capital damage (capitals and starbases) only deals 25% against light armor IIRC.
