When I first started playing this game, if I zoomed out, there were convenient little icons showing my planets and fleets and stuff. For some reason, that all just went away when I started the game up today. Did I hit a hotkey by accident?
Most likely Cinematic View is on. There is a button on the upper tool bar that looks like a camera. Click on it and see if that fixes it.
