Crash MS-VCPP Runtime SoSE:Rebellion

I am running SoSE:Rebellion (Steam Version) 1.03.4243 on Win 7,64 Bit - i960, 12GB RAM, GTX680 (Dual Monitor 2560x1440, 1920x1080)  and had the following error message:

MS Visual C++ Runtime Library

This application requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusal way.

After that the game terminated to the desktop...

This happened in the late endgame of a single player game with one normal AI and with a small map.

Happened again in SP game versus 3 AI's on a medium map and again just a few minutes before i destroyed the final AI...

We think this occurs cause you've run out of video texture memory. But the GTX 680 has 2GB, right?

Yes thats correct. It's a brand new Gainward GTX680 Phantom with 2GBytes and no special tweaks / overclocking.

Today i loaded the latest autosave and i was able to finish the game without a problem,

its got nothing to do with video memory or video resource allocation.

 

seemingly there is a slow leak that occurs throughout a match (SP AND MP) which causes the virtual allocation to increase until it hits the limit.
