Announcement: GUI Champs 2012

We’ve been dropping small bits of info over the past few months, but today we are excited to officially announce that the 2012 GUI Champs will be starting this Fall!  Over the years we have ran several GUI Champ competitions, and these always brought the top graphic designers from around the globe together to compete for thousands of dollars in cash, prizes, and worldwide exposure. 

The designer themselves got access to all those prizes, but even more important is the users got hundreds of new skins, wallpapers, and more to use on their desktops.  For example, check out some of the top WindowBlinds skins from ‘08 here.  Many members can certainly agree on the fantastic icon packs for IconPackager that were submitted, some of which I still use today.

This year, the GUI Champs will be accepting entries in the following categories:

Prizes will include lots of cash, Object Desktop subscriptions, WinCustomize subscriptions, and more!  We’re still finalizing prizes so we’ll have more detailed info on that soon.  More specific details about the competition like the rules and such, will also be posted soon.

I really like the idea of having these competitions. Over the years it has been something that I have really paid alot of attention to. I've been working on a WB for this and finished it yesterday, but last week got a new brilliant idea and started on that one...now I'm going to have to sit on the first one, to see if I have time to finish the second one (which is the one that I really want to enter because it's a WAY more original idea).
