Trinity Registration Key Won't Work on Stardock Site

Hello, I recently purchased Sins Trinity from a resale shop (I know, probably my problem right there, but hoping it's not) and tried entering the registration code on the Stardock site so I can update it.  I'm having minidump crash problems and I'm hoping an update will fix that.  The thing is, though.  I keep getting an error saying the serial is invalid, even though I've checked and double checked and triple checked to make sure it's the one on the back of the instruction manual... and it is.  Can I get some help with this please?

Odds are the key was already registered by its original owner.  We do not support resold keys, but you can try contacting [email protected] for assistance.

I have the same issue, however, I purchased my game from a retail store and acquired an unused code.

The code is supposed to be the REG code, correct? I tried using that code and it wouldn't register it being correct.
