Ship Scale Compared to Planets

Hello all. I am new here after just getting the game. 

This might be a stupid question and I am sorry if it is but is there any way to change the scale of the ships? what i mean is the ships scale looks so much larger then the planets scale. It just looks weird. I know it doesnt change the gameplay at all and thats what is important but it really bugs me and takes away from the immersion factor for some reason. 

 

Again I know sounds silly but I thought I would ask.

You can resize each piece when you build a custom ship, but on the galaxy map, each class of ship will be within a certain size range.

To make the scales correct would mean the average person wouldn't be able to see the ships on the field - even huge ships aren't that big.

 

For example, Star Trek's NCC-1701-D USS Enterprise had/has the same number of people on board as a modern aircraft carrier does.

 

Even in-game descriptions list max ship size as anything up to 2 or 3 km long.

 

 

I imagine it would lose more immersion factor than gain any...

Ya thats a good point.  Like i said I know its probably something that no one else even thinks about haha.
