Can't Create Account

Already Registered, but that wasn't even the problem!

Hello,

I purchased Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity earlier today. I haven't been able to play it at all, however...

When I run the game from Steam (which I bought it through), it comes up with the Stardock registration dialog box first. When filling out either of the 2 forms in that dialog and pressing the create/register buttons, nothing happens.

I tried registering on the website soon after experiencing this problem. It worked, but now I don't know what to do. It's not recognizing my registration on my computer and I don't know how to tell it to do so.

I've tried running the Trinity and Dev executables directly as an administrator. When I run Trinity as administrator, I actually get the splash screen menu, but then when I try to play the game the Stardock thing comes up again.

I have Windows 8 (release preview), but that should not cause any compatibility issues to the best of my knowledge. I've been using it for several months now and I haven't had problems with anything else. Plus, they say that Windows 8 works basically the same as Windows 7 (and it does).

What should I do?

Thanks,

- Andrew

I have Windows 8 (release preview)
End of quote

There is a known incompatibility with the Windows 8 prerelease versions. As a workaround, download this file: http://sd.stardock.com/sdactivate_legacy.zip

Extract the contents to the folder the game is installed in and overwrite any existing files. You should then be able to complete the registration process.

That worked, thank you!
