When I use the setting in objectdock to hide the taskbar I no longer get UAC popups; they become hidden.
Programs that reply on UAC prompts won't load because I can't view the popups. Only after disabling hide taskbar will the UAC appear.

I discovered something similar...
If you install Stardock's "START 8" menu in windows 8... and then hide the taskbar from the object settings options... it hides the start 8 menu also.
BTW: Personally I think that if you pay them money for Objectdock... it should include all the features of "start 8" so that you don't need that. Just an added bonus to entice buyers to buy objectdock instead of only the start 8 menu tool. Although only while you use the objectdock "start" docklet.
What happens if you use Windows to hide the taskbar?
Do you mean use Windows "Auto-hide the Taskbar" option? If so, then UAC still works.
It is only when I use objectdock's hide taskbar when I run into trouble.
BTW: Windows Auto-hide option doesn't hide the taskbar completely. It still leaves a 1pixel bar/line on the screen where the taskbar is hidden at.
