ATI, Start up, Black screen, Crash, Minidump

I played the game a lot upon released and came back to it after a few months to discover a mini dump occurring after I start it. If I open it though steam or though the location on my hard drive then this mini dump occurs.

 

I have look up some ways to fix this issue which involve:

-Verifying Intergrity of Game Cache in steam

-Updating my AMD video drivers

-Restarting steam

-Only using one moniter

 

I do not have a NVidia card. I have a XFX Radeon HD 4890. Most posts that have addressed this issue have been over Nvidia cards so their fix won't work.

I can start the game using "Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion Dev.exe" but this limits me by not letting me connect to multiplier games which is all I do.

have you tried adjusting the multisampling type in the catylst control centre? ie of the three type on the slider, the two ends seem to be fine, but the centre one seems to cause issues.

Hmm, if it works in the dev, perhaps its a settings or resolution issue? The dev has its own settings file and is always in windowed mode, so maybe try deleting your Settings folder to force the game to remake it with the defaults.
