license is limited until some major version is available (example: start8 version 2.0, 3.0, 4.0...) and we will need to pay for the upgrade?

I was not aware of the license term,i thought it as an unlimited upgrade for all existing users irrespective of version numbers.

Our apps are always you get all the updates free for the same major version as you have.  So buy 1.01, get all the 1.x series.

Sometimes we also offer a free upgrade between major versions.  As an example I don't think we have ever charged for an IconPackager upgrade, but all major versions of WindowBlinds have been paid upgrades.  It very much depends on the product and what the new version offers.

Likewise typically purchases within a certain time period of the new version get free upgrades and previous purchases outside of that get a discounted price.

Finally I should stress that this isn't like some apps with the year in their version number where at least every year there is a new version out.  We have been known to have 7+ year gaps between major versions such as with Multiplicity where v1 was in 2005, but v2 came out in 2012.  We are not like firefox and google chrome where they throw out a major version change every few months.  With us a major version number change means a major product change and I cannot recall any situation where this has been less than 12 months and in most cases I would think 2-3 years.

that is good to know, primary concern was " I don't know when will be the next major version! " I just bought it in Nov after buying Windows 8 and i thought i would have to upgrade the software again in a few months time because the software predates Windows 8 retail.

I thought i might have to pay again i march or something!

Perhaps you should consider putting it in the FAQ's in the homepage as everyone may not be aware of this and I could not find it anywhere :(

How many computers is a single license valid for?

I read on this forum that it is 2, but I bought a single license for each computer.
