Product askinhg me to register after update installed - now crashes

bloody crashing

HI,

I installed of the disk and played for several hours last night, after a glorious win against the AI i descided to look for any patches that have been released.

I logged in to Stardock that merged a account with GameStop (messing around if your ask me but i did it) then I GameStop said that there is a patch available 1.44GB in total, so I downloaded it and installed it.

Today I came to play the game launched the launcher and clicked play now it asks me to register the game, I put in my StarDock username, password and serial number as requested and clicked Register (even tho its registered with stardock and shows as been registered on Gamestop, after ten mins of waiting I click quit and a error pops up saying "an error has occurred while activating the product" I have tried the following:

Running in administrators mode,

Compatibility modes xp SP2 and 3, Vista Sp1 and 2, Windows 7 and of course windows 8 that i am using now,

my machine is fairly new and can run all modern games on ultra settings, this game ran before the update so I dont know what the problem is..

any idea's? is there a alternate place to update the game from?

I install Gamestop, log in, it shows my Sins game. Download the game and install from gamestop, run the game from start menu shortcut, it asks to register, go back to gamestop window and get the key from there and use the same ID as you logged into gamestop with.

or email suport

We've made GameStop aware of this issue and are waiting for them to push out a fix. Hopefully this will be sometime today.

In the mean time, you should open Windows Explorer to the location below and delete your Trinity.bin file:

C:\ProgramData\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\License

After GameStop pushes out the fix, activation should work normally again.

Update: GameStop tells us the fix is now released.
