Inconsistent search feature?

I've been following Start8 development with a lot of interest. If this thing can really bring back the Start menu from Windows 7, then I could actually enjoy using W8 on my main machine (as opposed to running it on VMs - as a software developer I kind of NEED the new OS, but I'll be damned if I'll be forced to struggle with it's terrible UI).

I've noticed the search feature treats new Metro UI apps differently than other apps.

Example:
I've downloaded and installed an application for viewing a newspaper called "Gazeta Wyborcza" (this is the name of the newspaper as well as the Metro application). Obviously, I also have "Internet Explorer" installed on the system (but this is not a Metro-only application).
If I search for "Explorer" I will find "Internet Explorer" as well as "File Explorer" - so the search feature is working nicely (Start8 will also find elements in the Control Panel - awesome!). However, if I search for "Wyborcza" the search box will be empty.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of Metro apps, so this doesn't concern me that much. It's that Start8 doesn't behave as expected what irks me the most.

I don't know if this is a bug or a feature yet to come, but I figured I'd throw it out here. :)

PS. I've tried the latest 1.03 version as well as (currently) the beta version.

I imagine a search for Gazeta would find it?

Metro searches are only searching based on the start of the strings rather than searching for sub strings.  This may change in the future, but it is unlikely they will ever support the advanced searching that normal searches support including NOT, AND etc.

Yes, a search for "Gazeta" will work fine.

Wow, I thought it's a limitation of Start8. I didn't expect this to be a limitation of the OS itself. :/

Well, thanks for the explenation, and cheers!

No it is a Start8 limitation due to the metro apps not existing in the same sense as other apps.  The shortcuts for them are "special"
