How to Research Victory

How does it work? I found mention that you need to complete 50 researches before you can start doing the winning tech. I had 50+ fully completed techs but I couldn't find anything that would resemble the research victory trigger.

You're almost there. ;) This unlocks a very expensive, race specific, ultimate tech that you have to research to achieve victory.
